Why live when you were born to die,
Some say,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for today, tomorrow, yesterday,
Live for the past, the present, the future I say,
But, why live when you were born to die
They ask,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for your family, your friends, your foes,
Live for the bronze, the silver, the gold,
Why live when you were born to die,
Some ask,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for the forest, the woods, the leaves,
Live for the birds, the bees, the trees,
Why live when you were born to die,
They wonder,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for the helpless, the hungry, the weak,
Live for the wonders of wonders we speak I say,
But still, they ask,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for the world we call our home,
Live for its oceans, it’s seaside, it coast,
Why live when you were born to die,
Some say.
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for the rain, the sunshine the snow,
Live for its good days, it’s bad days, its hope
Why live when you were born to die,
Some think,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for the leaves that dance in the wind,
Live for its orange, its yellow, its red,
Why live when you were born to die,
Some say,
Why live when you were born to die.
Live for the snowflakes the play on your nose,
Live for its whiteness, is cleanness, its hope,
So tell me, what is your reason,
To live when you were born to die
