Helping Writers Become Authors – podcast by K.M Weiland

K.M Weiland has forged the difficult hills and mountains of creative writing. She gives excellent advice that is applicable both to those who are starting out and those who’ve been writing for a long time. Her podcast is invaluable for anyone hoping to become a better fiction writer!

Mark Stewart:
Morgan Harper Nichols, visual artist, poet, and musician

It can feel like there is nothing good on the Internet. Especially these days, it can seem full of bad news, with no inspiration. The work of Morgan Harper Nichols challenges this perception.

Nichol’s is an artist, poet, podcaster, and musician. Her colourful illustrations and gentle, hope-filled words bring light to my soul and speak to feelings that were on the tip of my tongue. Some might say she’s magical.

I would highly recommend following her on Instagram @morganharpernichols for some daily sunshine.

Ilana Reimer:
Walking on Water by Madeleine L’Engle

Maybe, like me, you question the value of art amid the brokenness of our world. Or, maybe you have a sense that creativity is important, but you need some encouragement to know you’re not alone in that view.

Madeleine L’Engle steps in with this smart, philosophical book on what it means to be a Christian and a creator. Though her perspective is that of a writer, the book is quite inclusive and applicable to any art form.

I found it refreshing and insightful. It made me want to drop everything and write, but at the same time, I couldn’t put it down!
